Grandmaster Stanley Carl Swope
Sept. 8, 1956 – Sept. 18, 2017
Grandmaster Stanley Carl Swope began martial arts in 1977 in St. Joseph, Missouri. He soon moved to Oklahoma and joined the U.S. Moo Duk Kwan organization. He excelled at the hard style Tae Kwon Do taught by the Moo Duk Kwan and particularly enjoyed testing his skill by kicking and striking wood and concrete. He met Supreme Master Kim Bok-Man in 2013, and began learning Chun Kuhn Taekwondo. He served as the Vice President of the World Chun Kuhn Taekwondo Federation for Supreme Master Kim from 2014 until his death in 2018. He assisted Supreme Master Kim at seminars in Malaysia, China and Russia in 2016, events which were among the most memorable of his martial arts career. Grandmaster Swope is survived in the martial arts by his son, Master Jeramie Swope, and his brother, Master Mike Swope, president of Kansas Chun Kuhn Taekwondo.
